2008 Radikon Ribolla Gialla

 

500ml bottling.... just a lovely showing with roast chicken....
Big time fruit and very well developed..... plenty of time left....
Lots of sediment at the end. Stand this up at least two weeks in advance...
As much as I enjoy Radikon's wines, Gravner remains a FVG reference point for me...

2007 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Paganelli

A very unyielding, tight showing for this 2007 Riserva. I was taken aback since 2007 is generally known as a more generous vintage. Enjoyed over the course of several evenings. The last third of the bottle started to exhibit finely delinated fruit to match the classic structure. I have one more of these that I'll let rest another 5 years or so... 

Certainly an unexpected and interesting experience..
